It has been a year since the events of Spider-Man 3. Some of the symbiote managed to survive the explosion created by Spider-Man in an attempt to destroy the suit. After escaping from the construction site the suit made a clone of Eddie Brock from the imprint his DNA had made on it. Eddie is surprised that he is alive and then flees New York City.
