Peter Parker is the protagonist of Marvel Knights: Spider-Man.

During a trip to one of Oscorp's laboratories, Peter is bitten by a strange spider. The following day, he discovers that he's obtained bizarre abilities, such as increased strength, superhuman reflexes, and even capable of sticking to walls. Originally using his power for cheap thrills by taking down petty criminals for self-satisfaction, Peter uses his gifts to protect others after nearly losing his uncle in an attack that leaves him in a coma.

Known to Manhattan, and the world, as the infamous "Spider-Man," Peter uses his abilities to take down various criminal elements. While his actions are highly criticized at first, especially by J. Jonah Jameson of the Daily Bugle, he earns recognition by saving a bus full of children from Adrian Toomes on public television, which also earns him an ally in Police Chief Yuri Watanabe.

Appearance[]

Peter is 15-years-old. He has brown hair and green eyes.

Peter has a naturally skinny frame, though after the spider bite, he develops a more muscular frame and is significantly taller. He primarily wears a green jacket with a white hood and a black shirt with gray cargo jeans and black boots.

Personality[]

Initially, Peter comes off as timid, awkward yet high intellectual, passing all classes, except PE, with straight A's. He doesn't have very many friends, and suffers from low self-esteem issues, often relying on Gwen and Harry. He is usually skittish and otherwise frightened around his boss Eddy Brock, due to the man's otherwise harsh demeanor, though he takes great pride in his photography skills. After being bit by a strange spider and developing superhuman powers, however, he develops more courage and confidence, publicly humiliating his tormentor Flash Thompsan and fighting back against him. He also used his powers for selfish reasons, taking down petty criminals for cheap thrills.

Following the attack on Ben Parker, which leads him into being put into a coma, with the possibility of being brain dead due to the head trauma and in a wheelchair because of a bullet in his spinal cord, Peter is distraught and terrified to use his powers again, especially when he learns that the person who attacked him was the same person who escaped him, but didn't bother chasing after. This leads to him becoming more active and open in his endeavors, eventually making a name for himself in the public, albeit under scrutiny. He is easily taken aback by his negative reception, especially when he hears how openly Jameson slanders his alter ego, but through Gwen Stacy and her father's words of how "Spider-Man" is changing things for the better, he resolves to continue his work and doesn't let public opinion bother him. This, of course, leads to him gaining the admiration and help from Police Chief Yuri Watanabe, who was at first skeptical of his early vigilante acts.

As Spider-Man, Peter builds a personality worthy of such a free-spirited and courageous fighter, He is flippant, rude and outright sarcastic, often belittling or mocking his foes to get them riled up. This, at times, leads to his actions coming back to bite him in the ass on more than one occasion, but its effectiveness speaks for itself. He also has a habit of toying with his opponent, prolonging a fight or purposely holding back so that he can wear them down, though like his taunting, it can backfire on him. Following through on his resolve, Peter ignores public criticism and focuses on the goal ahead of him: protecting everyone precious to him, and protecting others so that they would not feel the same pain he did.

History[]

Born as the only child of Richard and Mary Parker, Peter was orphaned at a young age when his parents died as the result of an explosion at a facility. He was then raised by his aunt May and his uncle Ben, who would become the closest thing Peter had to parents. Due to his otherwise shy nature and impressive smarts, Peter was often the target of bullying, yet managed to find solace in one of the neighborhood kids who made friends with him: Gwen Stacy. In middle school, he made another friend in Harry Osborn, who became the closest thing Peter would have to a brother.

In his freshman year, Peter took up a part-time job at the Daily Bugle. He was, at first, rejected due to his young age, but one of the reporters, Eddy Brock, found a photo he dropped. After being shown more pictures of his work, Eddy decided to put in a good word for him. A week later, Peter was hired and worked exclusively under J. Jonah Jameson while under Eddy's teaching, though the teen later realized that the reporter was arrogant and brash, letting his fame get to his head. He would, however, make a friend with an older woman named Mary Jane, who also taught him the ropes and helped hone his photography skills.

Halfway into the school year, Peter, Gwen and Harry joined the school's Chemistry Club, which would one day have a field trip to one of Oscorp Industries' laboratories.

Story[]

To Be Added

Abilities[]

  • Increased Strength: Due to the spider-bite, Peter developed superhuman strength. It allows him to lift objects much heavier than himself, such as a car or dumpster.
  • Increased Durability: In addition to the increased physical prowess, Peter also developed an impressive durability and resistance to pain. He can take hits that would, otherwise, knock out or cripple an ordinary human, while also powering through wounds that would render most unconscious.
  • Enhanced Reflexes: Otherwise known as his "Spider-Sense," Peter has developed a warning system that allows him to sense oncoming attacks, such as someone throwing a punch or firing a bullet in his direction. It can also sense oncoming dangers, such as a car heading his way or debris about to fall on his head.
  • Wall Sticking: A power Peter dubbed himself, for a lack of better words. Along with his physical capabilities, Peter can stick to virtually any surface.

Trivia[]

  • Peter's early usage of his abilities for taking down criminals for cheap thrills is similar to how Gwen Stacy in the Spider-Gwen comics first used her abilities.
  • Peter did not obtain his iconic suit until the climactic battle in "With Great Power..." climax with the Vulture.
